Latin is not dead! It’s in retirement, enjoying lucrative consulting positions in the scientific and medical communities. Other than that, it occasionally goes to church and has an interest in oral sex.

Give Up (Before It Starts.)

2005-07-23 at 09:29 (poetry)

(A Radiohead Parody, co-written with Joshua Fitzpatrick)

Put your head between your legs
Put your head under the desk
pray that it won’t get you
like it’s gonna hellp

You can ask yourself how much time you’ve got
Telling yourself you are okay (when you’re not)
pray that it won’t get you
like it’s gonna heelp

the door is LOCKED
and they’ve lost the key
the chains will clank (CLAANK)
and from the dark you’ll see…

nothing cos the light’s already off
flickering like a scolded moth
in a fireplace
in a palace of ice
lice like the worms on your skin
give up before you even begin

(a haunted face
at the window
that you can’t
shake)

faces

2005-07-23 at 05:52 (poetry)

you see them everywhere
behind each one
a past with filled-in cracks

but some cracks can’t be filled
shows through hair scars eyes fingernails

never a second thought of
those who pass by
each one seen once
before they disappear into obscurity

they’re
not 2D but 3D
not fake but real
not plastic but living
too much to grasp

try to fathom
a million different lives
a thousand different cultures
you’ll fail
sure as the wind blows

(as it blows, we forget
the person who just passed by)

things

2005-07-20 at 22:31 (poetry)

not harsh or sexist (nothing so childish)
– that is simply how it is –
not against or for (nothing so black and white)
– i just sit on the fence –
not without reason (nothing so random).

a phone rings, empty. no intellegence. (not even living)
a person cries, empty. emotion. (too alive)

truth/lie

2005-07-20 at 21:26 (poetry)

what’s the truth and what’s the lie?
can you think around and tie
two things together
so you even if you try
you never again can tear them apart
one forever, which is which?
truth and lie bound together
the lie is the thorn, the bramble
grows and chokes and scrambles
the truth, it dies
on your lips
as you speak your new truth.
